​Starting Fall 2022 and extending through the Fall of 2023, Women & Gender Studies at UD is celebrating 50 years of teaching about, studying, and advocating for the rights of women and justice for all marginalized people. ​Over the past 50 years of fighting against sex- and gender-based discrimination enormous strides have been made … but there is still much to do.

The faculty, students, and alumnae/​alumni​ of the Department of Women & Gender Studies —along with the entire UD community—will be celebrating our accomplishments, documenting key milestones in the movement, and preparing to face the challenges still ahead.

Over three semesters, while highlighting the role of our Department, we will be reflecting on legislative victories, exploring lessons from history, and mobilizing to create a better future for all people experiencing discrimination and marginalization. ​
