    Biography

    ​Claire Rasmussen, PhD (University of Washington, 2003) joined the Department in 2003 with joint appointments in Women and Gender Studies and Legal Studies. She specializes in late modern and contemporary continental political and social theory. Her research examines the political and cultural construction of identity. Her current project is an examination of the relationship between marriage and the liberal state. She teaches in the areas of political theory and public law. She currently serves as Director of Graduate Studies in the department.
