Biography
Emily Davis received her B.A. from Southwestern University and her M.A. and Ph.D. from the University of California, Santa Barbara. Prior to her arrival at UD, she held a postdoctoral fellowship in English at the University of Nevada, Reno. Her current book project, Global Romance: Intimacy and Exploitation in Contemporary Postcolonial Fiction, examines appropriations of the romance genre, including both its utopian and gothic strains, in contemporary global literature, film, and television. Professor Davis's research and teaching interests include postcolonial literature and film, globalization, gender and sexuality, and genre (especially romance and detective fiction).
